Please save this date! Incoming Kindergarten Orientation will be the

morning of Wednesday, September 8, 2004. More information concerning this date will be forthcoming in mid August. The students will have a full day of school starting Thursday, September 9, 2004.

1 bottle of Elmer’s White Glue

2 glue sticks

1 box of 24 crayons

1 box of 8 crayons

art smock - An old shirt from mom or dad works best! Please do

not buy a special smock.

extra clothes - We are requesting that each family send in some

old play clothes to be left at school. This should include

socks, and under garments. In the event your child spills or

has some type of accident, he or she will have clean clothes

to wear.

sleeping roll (bag)

$5.00 cooking fee

I’M IN KINDERGARTEN

Your child will be bringing home a pin "I’m in Kindergarten" with their materials today. We are asking that your child wear this pin on the first day of school. This will help us as well as the bus driver, identify the kindergarten students quickly as they arrive at school.

WHAT TO WEAR?

There is NOT a specific uniform for the kindergarten students. Your child should wear conformable clean play clothes to school each day. On gym days, sneakers are a must! Your child needs to bring a large book bag or backpack to school each day.

SNACKS AND BIRTHDAYS

Parents are asked to supply their child with a nutritious snack each day. Some suggestions for snack might be vegetable sticks, pizza squares, fruit cups, cheese and crackers. Families are also requested to provide their child with a drink each day. One option is to buy milk through the school milk program.

Each day a class helper is chosen. This helper will be the "lucky one" who gets the messages, passes out supplies, and runs the errands!

About birthdays...If your child’s birthday falls during the school year,

you will automatically be assigned that date for birthday treats. All summer birthdays will be held individually during the school year. For these occasions, your child is welcome to bring in cupcakes, brownies, or another type of goodie for the class.

PERSONAL

Please feel free to let us know if there is anything we can do to make the transition to kindergarten easier for your child. We look forward to an enjoyable school year. Have a wonderful summer!
