Rico*
* iHola! Mi nombre es Gabriellai. Tengo catorce (14) años. Yo estoy en octavo grado en la escuela Nuestra Madre de los Dolores. En Febrero, yo fui a Culebra, Puerto Rico con mi familia de vacacíones. En mis vacaciones, yo fui a Vieques por un dia. Vieques esta cerca de Culebra y es muy fantástico. Culebra es una isla al este de Puerto Rico. Esta es muy pequeña, pero muy bonita. Yo amo a Culebras porque tiene muchas actividades y la isla es sencilla. Algunos lugares en Culebra son: muchas playas, los restaurantes, los arrecifes de corrales, las tiendas pequeñas, y las iglesias. Puerto Rico esta a 1000 millas de sureste de la Florida. La capital de Puerto Rico es San Juan, al Noreste de la isla. Otras partes muy famosas son: Mayaguez, Ponce, Arecibo, Caguas y El Viejo San Juan. Mi papá descubrió la belleza de Puerto Rico cuando él trabajó en el Observatorio del Arecibo. Él tenia 20 años de edad. Desde entonces vamos allá. La gente de Puerto Rico es muy simpático, chévere, y bonita. Muchas personas hablan en Inglés, pero la lengua oficial es español. Puerto Rico tiene cerca de 3,900,000 personas. La isla de Puerto Rico tiene muchos lugares, actividades, y historia. Algunos de mis lugares favoritos son los restaurantes- El Metropol y los kiosks: Son muy, muy, muy sobrosos! Las playas son bonitas, pero me gustan las playas de Culebra mejor. Las iglesias de Puerto Rico son muy fabulosas y muy grandes.¡La isla tiene muchos más puntos de interés, pero no puedo nombrarlos todos! ¡Yo amo a Puerto Rico! Hi, my name is Gabriella. I am 14 years old. I am in 8th grade at Our Mother of Sorrows school. In February, I went to Culebra, Puerto Rico with my family on vacation. During my vacation, I went to Vieques, Puerto Rico for one day. Vieques is an island near Culebra (which is also an island) and is very wonderful. Culebra is an island to the east of Puerto Rico. It is very small, but very beautiful. I love Culebra because it has so many great places to visit and relax; the island is very simple. Some places to go to in Culebra are: many beautiful beaches, great restaurants, amazing coral reefs, little shops, and of course a lovely Catholic Church they have a Methodist one too). Puerto Rico is about 1000 miles southeast of Florida. The capital of Puerto Rico is San Juan, in the Northeastern part of the island. Other famous parts of the island are: Mayaguez, Ponce, Arecibo, Caguas, and Old San Juan. My father discovered the beauty of Puerto Rico when he worked at the Arecibo Observatory when he was about 20 years old. We have been going to Puerto Rico ever since! The people of Puerto Rico are very kind, nice, and beautiful. Many people speak English, but the official language is Spanish. Puerto Rico is home to about 3,900,000 people. The island of Puerto Rico has many places to go, activities, and a rich history. Some places one could go to when in Puerto Rico are the restaurants, beaches, and taking road trips with scenic views. Among my favorite restaurants in Puerto Rico are El Metropol and even little restaurants along the road called kiosks, both offer great traditional Puerto Rican cooking! The beaches of Puerto Rico are very pretty, but I enjoy the beaches of Culebra better. The churchs and cathedrals of Puerto Rico are absolutely beautiful as well. The island offers many more wonderful points of interest...but I can’t name them all! I love Puerto Rico! The photos of my vacation are below! Enjoy!
